Terms & Conditions

 

Before you submit a booking for an event, please read these conditions (“Conditions”). 

By accepting these conditions as part of the event booking process, you indicate your agreement to enter into a contract with Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited, Suite 41 Wentworth House, 83 High Street North Dunstable Bedfordshire LU6 1JJ.

An “Event” means an event or course available for booking on the web site or as advertised elsewhere.

“Fee” means the fee for an event as indicated during the booking process or as promoted in any marketing materials.

Please review all the information you have submitted or will submit regarding your booking before you make a booking request. By submitting a booking request, you confirm that all the information you submit is accurate, true and complete.

By submitting your booking request, you are offering to enter into a contract for attendance at the event.

We reserve the right to reject any booking request we receive.

The Fee for the Event is exclusive of VAT, which will be payable by you, unless you are VAT exempt (from April 2021)

If you are unable to attend, you may substitute a suitable delegate to an event upon notification to Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited at no additional charge; this is at Vera Chilly Consultancy Management’s discretion.

Unless otherwise stated, the refund policy for events is as follows:

    • Cancellation more than 4 weeks before the event: full refund

    • 4-2 weeks before the event: 50% of the fee refunded

    • Less than 2 weeks before the event: no refund.

    • Any FREE events will be subject to a full course charge if cancelled less than 2 weeks before the event

All places on events are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A deposit may be taken for funded courses, and where indicated as refundable, this is only honoured if the course is completed in a timely manner, as set out in the learners agreement end date.

Events are subject to cancellation or rescheduling at our discretion. If the event is cancelled in its entirety, we will credit any event fees paid to you as soon as possible. If the time, date, venue or content of the event is changed after your booking, you will be notified and given the option to cancel your booking. We shall not be liable for any additional loss or damage resulting from such cancellation or changes.

We reserve the right to cancel, suspend or vary the operation of our contract with you if events are outside our reasonable control. We shall not be responsible for any breach of contract, nor for any loss or damage resulting from such an event.

Any typographical, clerical or other similar accidental error or omission made by us in respect of your booking shall be subject to correction without any liability on our part.

Copyright and all other intellectual property rights shall remain the property of the Publishers Association. You agree not to reproduce, sell, hire or copy any materials (in whole or in part) and not to use such materials except for reference.

Our liability to you, whether arising from an action in contract law, including negligence or otherwise, shall be limited as follows: 

(a) We shall not be liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill or injury to reputation, loss of business opportunity, the loss suffered by third parties or any form of indirect, consequential or special loss.

(b) Our total liability to you shall be limited to the amount of the price paid by you.

These Conditions and the booking process referenced in these Conditions constitute the entire agreement between Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited and you. In entering into these Conditions, you acknowledge that you have not relied upon any statement or representation from us, save as set out in these Conditions or as stated in writing as part of the booking process.

No term of any contract between us arising from these Conditions is intended to confer a benefit or be enforceable by any third party, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise.

The language of any contract formed will be English. The Conditions shall be construed following English Law, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

We may change the terms upon which we make Events available from time to time without notice to you, and any subsequent booking requests you may make will be subject to those changes.

Safeguarding, Prevent & British Values Policy

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited embraces its role in helping people to achieve their full potential. This role includes a responsibility to act and intervene when it appears learners need to be made safe from harm, whether the abuse is sexual, physical, emotional harm or neglect.

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited believes that it is always unacceptable for learners to experience abuse of any kind and recognises its responsibility to safeguard their welfare by a commitment to practice which protects them.

Safeguarding covers activities or behaviour that may pose a risk to the safety and wellbeing of an individual, including but is not limited to the following:

    • All forms of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual and financial)

    • Neglect

    • Bullying (including cyberbullying)

    • Children missing education

    • Child sexual exploitation

    • Domestic violence

    • Drugs

    • Faith abuse

    • Female genital mutilation (FGM)

    • Forced marriage

    • Gangs and youth violence

    • Mental health

    • Preventing radicalisation

    • Relationship abuse

    • Sexting

    • Trafficking

We will take measures to ensure that our safeguarding duty is met at all times.

These measures include:

    • Having a clear policy and procedures in place.

    • Carrying out background checks on all employees

    • Encouraging staff and learners to raise concerns.

    • Taking all concerns seriously and acting upon them

    • Training all staff in Safeguarding

    • Delivering tutorial sessions covering safeguarding topics

PREVENT DUTY

We take terrorism seriously, so we closely follow the Prevent scheme as outlined by the government. We aim to prevent people from being drawn into all forms of extremism by educating and raising awareness about issues that could endanger or cause harm.

Prevent is a government initiative aimed at stopping people getting involved with or supporting violent extremism. Part of our safeguarding duty is to protect vulnerable individuals from the risk of radicalism and extremism. To do this, we follow government guidance which is known as the Prevent Duty.

Modern Slavery Statement

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited training as Verachilly-Training is committed to understanding all potential modern slavery risks relating to its business and to ensuring the business and its supply chains are free of modern slavery and human trafficking.

As a market-leading training provider, we acknowledge our responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking and to comply with all principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We will not permit or condone any form of slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking.

We are committed to always behaving ethically and expect our subcontractors, suppliers and business partners to do likewise.

This statement explains Lifetime’s approach to this issue.

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited is a market-leading UK based training provider who offer apprenticeship programmes and training courses across a range of business sectors.

We work across the following Sectors:

The scope of our business is within the United Kingdom only.

Given the nature of our supply chain, we do not deem any particular activities or countries in which we operate, as high risk concerning modern slavery.

OUR POLICIES

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited is committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in its supply chains or any part of our business. We operate the following policies that describe our approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our operations: Anti Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, Employee Code of Conduct, Supplier Code of Conduct, Whistleblowing Policy.

OUR ORGANISATION

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited are comfortable from our due diligence that there is no evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking in our organisation.

The organisation undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly reviews its existing suppliers.

Should suppliers not meet our standards as set out in this policy and our code of conduct, we would consider invoking sanctions, including the termination of the business relationship.

We continue to review and advance our due diligence systems to identify further and mitigate any potential risks relating to Modern Slavery.

We have a robust policy and system in place to enable whistleblowing and to protect whistleblowers.

OUR SUPPLY CHAIN

Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets out the standards and principles to prevent modern slavery, and we expect all sub-contractors, suppliers and business partners to comply with these.

Our Suppliers must comply with all relevant laws and regulations, which includes all those relating to Human Rights and employee rights at work.

We hold our Supply Chain accountable for adhering to this code of conduct and should suppliers not meet our standards as set out in this policy and our code of conduct; we would consider invoking sanctions including the termination of the business relationship.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited is committed to being a responsible business to acting in a socially responsible manner. We seek to comply with all employment legislation. As part of this, we conduct a robust recruitment process to ensure all employees have the appropriate right to work in the UK.

TRAINING AND INFORMATION

The Anti-Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy is available to all managers and employees on the Company intranet system. New starters are required to read all Company Policies as part of their onboarding process. Where appropriate, employees will receive additional training (i.e. should they procure services on behalf of Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited).

All suppliers will provide such co-operation and information that Vera Chilly Consultancy Services reasonably requires to confirm compliance with our code of conduct, including, but not limited to:

    • providing written confirmation as to compliance with Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited code of conduct, on request,

    • allowing Vera Chilly to carry out (or commission others to carry out) compliance checks and audits.

    • Vera Chilly Consultancy Services Limited will review its Anti-Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy each year.

This statement will is published on our Corporate External website if required by law.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

To review the effectiveness of this policy, we will monitor Key Performance indicators which may include:

    • Records to confirm employees have a copy of our Anti-Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

    • Records to confirm suppliers have been issued with a copy of our Supplier Code of Conduct and confirmed compliance.

    • Records to confirm all employees have the right to work in the UK

    • Records of any actions taken to advance our identification and mitigation of risks relating to Modern Slavery

    • Records of how we have managed any Whistleblowing Cases

This statement is in line with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
